Our
Story
At à La Carte Meats, our story begins not just in a shop or a factory, but in a family tradition that spans three generations.
Managing Director Geoff Atkinson didn’t choose the meat industry—it chose him.
Growing up in a household where the rhythm of daily life was measured in early-morning market runs, the hum of cold rooms, and the sound of a cleaver on a butcher’s block, Geoff learned the trade not from textbooks, but from bloodlines.
His grandfather was a master butcher, respected in his local community for his meticulous skill and unwavering integrity.
Geoff's father carried the legacy forward while instilling in Geoff the values that matter most: quality, trust, and respect for the craft.
Geoff absorbed every detail—from the anatomy of a cut to the importance of sourcing ethically raised livestock—and with that, a lifelong passion was born.
In 2006, after years of working in both traditional butcheries and large-scale meat operations, Geoff founded À La Carte Meats.
His vision was clear: to combine the art of old-world butchery with the innovation and efficiency of modern food manufacturing. He saw an opportunity to offer something different—quality meats prepared with precision, yet scalable for hospitality and retail sectors.
What began as a small operation focused on custom meat cuts has evolved into a trusted provider of premium, chef-ready meat solutions for businesses across the region.
